MEET THE PASTOR
Several years ago while vacationing in Oregon, my wife and I visited a little town that we fell in love with called Gold Beach. We were delighted to find that the people who lived here were so friendly and sincere. While searching the phone directory for an Apostolic church, I quickly realized there weren't any Apostolic Pentecostal churches in this entire area. My wife and I began to feel such a burden for souls in this area that we moved to Gold Beach from Sacramento, California where we had been attending the Rock Church under the leadership of Pastor Nathaniel J. Wilson.
We began services in April of 2008 and thus begun what is now known as Gold Beach Apostolic Church. We have since moved into our second building and are continuing to have Revival, Bible studies, new convert classes, and much more. In the beginning we were unable to have Sunday School due to the limitations of our first building, but Sunday School classes has now begun in our new building.
I received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in 1970 under the pastorship of the late L.G. Hedger. I have such precious memories of that man of God and his wife that gave of themselves so many years ago to a young boy (and his family) who needed God in his life. The fact that they picked me up every Sunday for Sunday School is a very small example of the ways in which they gave sacrificially to the work of the Lord. Even though they have went on to meet the Lord, their ministry and work for God still continues, and their reward will be great! I just hope that I can carry on the work of the Lord and be as dedicated as they were.
Since that time I have had the privilege of working for the Lord in many areas of church work, including youth pastor, Sunday school superintendent, outreach director, musician, teacher, service leader, usher, song leader, assistant pastor, pastor, and much more.
Throughout all the years of living for the Lord, one thing I know is that He [God] is faithful, and I'm so grateful that He allowed me to work for, and with, him. May the Lord richly bless you.
Sincerely,
Pastor Mike Champlain
